Reliance Power synchronizes Unit I of Butibori Thermal Power Plant

Reliance Power Ltd on June 25, 2012 successfully synchronised the 300 Mw Unit I of the 600 MW Butibori Thermal Power Project in Nagpur. The Rs 3,600 crore plant is coming up on 275 acre. Power generated from the plant will mainly be distributed to industrial as well as distribution utilities in Maharashtra. 






Essar Energy commissions 600 Mw Unit II of Salaya Power Plant

Essar Energy in June 2012 commissioned the Unit II of Salaya Power Plant in Gujarat. With this the Salaya I power project has become fully operational.  The project has been built at a total investment of Rs 6,100 crore. Most of the power produced will be sold to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam, under a long-term contract. 






NTPC commissions Unit III of Sipat Super Thermal Power Project

NTPC, on 2 June 2012, commissioned the Unit III of Sipat Thermal Power Project in Chhattisgarh. It is the part of 1,980 MW Sipat pit head thermal power project which involves the installation of three coal based generating units of 660 MW each.  With this, Phase I of Sipat Thermal Power Project has been completed.

Unit II of Harduaganj Power Station goes on stream

250 Mw Unit II of Harduaganj Thermal Power Station of UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd in Uttar Pradesh has been commissioned by BHEL in June 2012. With this the 500 Mw project located 15 kms from Aligarh has been completed

Tata Motors Dharwad plant begins operations.

Tata Motors has commenced production of small commercial vehicles at its plant in Dharwad, Karnataka. The new plant spread over 405 acre, has state-of-the-art equipment based on lean manufacturing principles. The plant, which has an initial capacity of 90,000 units per year  has been set up with an investment of over Rs 900 crore. The company will manufacture commercial vehicle models like the Ace Zip and Magic Iris.



Philips India begins operations at its Chakan plant
 
Philips Electronics India has begun operations at greenfield healthcare manufacturing facility for imaging systems in Chakan, near Pune. The newly commissioned manufacturing facility will focus on diagnostic imaging solutions, initially developed for the Indian market and then for global markets.

Besco Foundry’s wagon  manufacturing plant inaugurated.

West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee on 9 June 2012, inaugurated a wagon manufacturing unit of Besco’s Foundry Division at Baruipur. The plant set up at a total investment of Rs 120 crore, is spread over about 14 acres, and has an annual production capacity of 3,000 wagons.
