Chincholi Sugar & Bio Industries Rs 400 crore sugar factory goes on stream
Chincholi Sugar
& Bio Industries Ltd. on November 30, 2012, commenced the commercial
production of sugar unit in Karnataka . The company has set up a sugar
unit with a capacity of 5,000 tccpd at Chincholi village in Gulbarga
district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs 400 crore. It also includes
distillery unit with a capacity of 65 klpd and 30 MW co-generation power unit.

Rexam Hindustan Tin Works Ltd has
set up a new aluminium manufacturing plant at Taloja, Navi Mumbai. Rexam Plc of UK and HTWL have jointly invested Rs 250 crore for
setting up the new unit which has a production capacity of 950 million cans per
annum. HTWL already has a running plant

HAL’s Kasargod advanced
electronics unit inaugurated
Hindustan
Aeronautics Limited (HAL) inaugurated its strategic electronics factory at Kasaragod
on November 18, 2012. The facility will
produce advanced avionics and complex electronic components, that will
contribute to the potency of a modern military aircraft. The plant has come up on a 196 acre land
allotted by KINFRA at Seethangoli, Kasargod.

Nestle India sets up R&D Unit at Manesar
Nestle India has
commissioned its first Research and Development (R&D) centre at Manesar in
Gurgaon, Haryana. The centre has been built with an investment of 50 million
Swiss francs (approx Rs 288 crore). The newly commissioned centre will focus on
getting deeper consumer insights in Indian eating habits, and will specialize
in Asian noodles and Indian cooking focussing on developing nutritious as well
as affordable products in appropriate serving sizes

New integrated terminal of Swami
Vivekanand Airport at Raipur inaugurated
President Pranab
Mukherjee on 07 November 2012, inaugurated a new integrated terminal of Swami
Vivekanand Airport at Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The Airport Authority of
India (AAI) has invested about Rs150 crore for the new terminal. The terminal has the capacity to serve 700
passengers, equipped with centralised air-conditioning system, five lifts,
three escalators, sophisticated CCTVs, public address system, fire-fighting
equipment and two aero bridges.

Coaches begin to roll out of Rae Bareily Rail Coach Factory
Congress
President Sonia Gandhi on 7 November 2012 flagged off the first set of coaches
from the modern rail coach manufacturing factory at Rae Bareli in Uttar
Pradesh. The Rail Coach Factory has been built over 540 hectare land with an
investment of Rs 1,685 crores. Once fully functional, 1,000 coaches are
expected to be rolled out annually from the Rae Bareily facility.

commissions die forging plant at Vadodara
Sanghvi
Forging & Engineering (SFEL) has commissioned its new open die forging
plant in Vadodara,. The greenfield plant with a capacity of producing
15,000 tonne of forging material was set up at a cost of Rs 132 crore. The
plant will have the ability to forge a single piece forging of up to 40 tonne.

NTPC commissions Unit V of Rihand Super Thermal Power Plant
NTPC on
November 19, 2012 commissioned the Unit
V of the Rihand Super Thermal Power Plant at Rihandnagar in Sonbhadra district
of Uttar Pradesh. With the operationalization of the 500 Mw plant, the power generation
capacity at Rihand has reached 2500 Mw.

Vadinar Phase II commissioned

commissioned Unit II of 255 Mw thermal power plant at Vadinar near Jamnagar. With this the total power generation capacity
of Vadinar Phase II has gone up to 510 Mw.
Unit I of the power plant was commissioned in June 2012.
