Tata Power, on 19 March 2012, synchronised the Unit II
of 525 MW at its Maithon mega power project in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. The Unit I of 525 MW was commissioned in
September 2011. The project is being implemented by Maithon Power, a 74:26 JV
between Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation.
